With increasing advances in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, many mental healthcare services have invested their current resources in these related areas. While new medications and psychotherapeutic approaches are undoubtedly pivotal, it is also important to focus on enhancing recovery of patients through psychosocial rehabilitation.
Designed for mental health professionals, especially psychiatrists working in the field of severe mental illnesses, this webinar aims to increase knowledge and understanding of Psychiatric Rehabilitation. The webinar includes presentations from global experts, Prof. Kamonnet Wannasewok and Prof. Tsuyoshi Akiyama. Followed by a discussion forum with presenters and additional experts – Prof Roger MK Ng and Dr Noppawan Tunsirimas – and an interactive Q&A.
Over 2 hours, experts will discuss and debate this concept using examples of rehabilitation practices in Japan and Thailand to illustrate how psychiatric rehabilitation practice can make use of existing mental health, social care, housing care and spiritual care resources to create synergy in providing a culturally relevant and acceptable psychiatric rehabilitation model.
