Meet the Speaker : Prof. Nikos Christodoulou

Nikos Christodoulou, MBBS MSc PhD MRCPsych, is Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Thessaly Medical School, Greece.

He studied Medicine at University College London (UCL) and subsequently specialised in Psychiatry in London and Nottingham, United Kingdom. He worked up the academic grades at the University of Nottingham Medical School until 2020, when he returned to his native Greece on behalf of the University of Thessaly. 

Nikos’ academic interests include Education, Preventive Psychiatry, Disaster Psychiatry and Schizophrenia. He is a keen clinician with a soft spot for Liaison Psychiatry and loves teaching, particularly at the bed-side. 

At the WPA, Nikos is currently the Chair of the WPA Section of Disaster Psychiatry and immediate past Chair of the WPA Section of Preventive Psychiatry.
