Meet the Speaker : Dr. Rodrigo Ramalho

Rodrigo Ramalho is a psychiatrist, originally from Paraguay, currently working as an Associate Professor at the University of Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. He is a public health specialist and a critical social scientist. Rodrigo is the Co-Director of the World Psychiatric Association Section of Disaster Psychiatry, as well as Co-Director of the Centre for Asian and Ethnic Minority Health Research and Evaluation (CAHRE), University of Auckland. His research interests include global mental health, cultural responsiveness in care, and the mental health consequences of disasters and conflict. His broader work focuses on how health systems can respond more equitably to our diverse populations, including those affected by displacement, where he brings a cross-cultural perspective shaped by his clinical, academic, and international collaborative experience.
